@ada I got Kbin federation working about an hour ago! Apparently Nginx 301 responses can turn POST requests into GET requests, something which completely broke federation for me.
Although, Lemmy still doesn't federate quite right, I think that might be Lemmy's fault though, since I've seen PRs for fixing that on the Lemmy-side of things.
@0xtero I truly resonate with this message! The Lemmy admins are sus and I'd much prefer hosting Kbin over Lemmy. It is truly just a pain that the difference between getting a functioning Kbin instance running vs a functioning Lemmy instance is so great.
Tried Discord-Matrix bridging yesterday (by means of mautrix-discord), it was surprisingly functional in relay mode. I just wish the backfill worked properly!
