Your first reaction when realizing that you just led hundreds of people to a platform hosted by literal nyazis by putting your project's code on there shouldn't be to do "damage control" and lie about your fuckups, it should be to immediately, with no delay, take down every mention of that goddamn nyazi platform and publicly apoligize for not realizing that you've just made friends with fucking fascists without doing even a few minutes of research on the people you're trusting to host your community project full of queer people.Correction: The repo was not actually taken down, it's just "archived". So apparently the Firefish team is totally fine with being associated with literal fascists.
Update: The repo was taken down, but it took a very long time and a public post about it to achieve what should have been done immediately.
Kainoa also sent me a personal apology message about having handles this badly, but my trust in that project is gone now, the vibes still go very much in a brand-y commercial feeling direction and it feels like they still prioritize their own public image over honesty and keeping their users safe
