Within the dungeon the small dragonling stared at the bug.
It was a small bug. Couldn't be larger than a silver coin. Seated on the cool rock.
Yet it had the most intense eyes the reptile had ever seen. Unblinking. And quite possibly fearless.
Retracting her claws, reaching across the damp floor, she gently bopped the head of the insect.
It made a repeated clicking sound, while rocking from side to side. She retreated. Her paw almost flying straight into the wall behind her.
The clicking stopped. The rocking stopped. The insect returned to staring.
Once more the dragonling placed her paw on top of the bug. This time the bug reached up and tried to hold on to the paw.
She had made a friend.
